Nepal (vol. III)

Amit Kagra showcases his love for far and distant places through landscapes visuals. The author takes the viewer on a journey to the forgotten kingdom of Lower Mustang and showcases the relationship between humans and landscapes. Huge landscapes demanded more real estate in the photo book; hence, the author used full-page spreads.

WHAT PEOPLE SAY

As someone planning a trip to Nepal next year these two books by Amit Kagra were the perfect introduction to the country for me. Amit captures not only the beauty of the country but the character and spirit of its peoples,  weaving in a little history and fact amidst the stunning photographs to make you want to go and find out more.

Some of my favorite images were of the Hindu sadhus garlanded with wooden beads and swathed in colorful cloths, foreheads painted, faces and hands smudged with ash.

The books also feature many children amid the architecture and landmarks and he has been able to capture their playfulness and joy. These are books that make you smile. At a time when travel is still not easy we can journey to Nepal vicariously through and with Amit. They are a joy!

The books are beautifully printed and arrived much more quickly than I expected.
